This FC RX-7 had been off the road for 20 years, and it showed. The owner wanted it brought back to life, not just restored, but improved beyond its original glory.
We began with a complete strip down, giving the body a full panel and paint refresh while removing and media/vapor blasting all underbody components. Everything was rebuilt with new bushes, joints, and bearings, leaving nothing to chance. Even the original two-piece wheels were stripped and fully refurbished to look and perform like new.
Under the hood, the aged FC block was rebuilt with larger ports, extra Dowling, and numerous new parts before detailed assembly. Our custom turbo manifold positioned a 300-series BorgWarner turbo perfectly, paired with a new 3.5-inch exhaust system to complete the hot side. All-new cooling components keep temperatures in check, while Motorsport Plumbing Supplies NZ fittings and lines ensure reliable fluid flow.
We also built a custom fuel tank to replace the rusted original, with an in-tank pump supplying fuel for a respectable 400HP at just 11 psi. A Link ECU handles full control, monitoring fluid temps, pressure, and safety systems, completing a precise and reliable package.
This FC RX-7 drives amazingly—plenty of grunt for the street, yet refined enough to enjoy every corner. With the owner flying in tomorrow, he’ll be getting one of the only 400HP FC RX-7s as a “taxi” straight from the airport—a perfect start to his journey home.
