The Return of a Kiwi Rotary Icon

The Return of a Kiwi Rotary Icon

Some cars are more than just builds, they’re time capsules. This one is a true OG of the 2000s NZ rotary scene. After suffering an engine failure over a decade ago, it was tucked away in storage when the owner moved to Australia. But recently, the call was made to bring it back to life, and we planned something a bit special.

We pulled the car out of hibernation and rebuilt its old-school, massive bridgeport 13B engine, giving it a new lease on life. The full refresh included new brakes, fluids, and a solid tune to get everything dialed in perfectly.

The goal? Rotary Reunion. With Kev flying in mid-week, he finally got to see his pride and joy running again after all these years, test driving it before loading it onto the trailer bound for Taupo. And over the weekend, he didn’t hold back. He absolutely sent it, burning fuel and showing off just how strong this build really was.

So many good mates put in the hours to make it happen, and seeing it back on track was worth every minute. We’re proud to welcome this legendary car back to life and back into the Sprint RE family.
